Course Descriptions:
Pre-Ballet: especially designed for our youngest dancers to get them passionate and excited about ballet.

Ballet I-IV: Studying ballet is one of the most effective and fun ways of improving posture, grace and body awareness. Ballet I is for beginning dancers, and each next level is for more and more experienced ballerinas.

Pre-point/Pointe: Pre-Pointe is a ballet class is designed for students interested in pursuing Pointe work later on. It will focus heavily on proper body alignment and balance, two essential parts of dancing on Pointe. Furthermore, students will be refreshed on the ballet terminology as well as parts and workings of the body, especially the feet and ankles. Pre-Pointe will not only strengthen ballet technique, prepare student’s minds and bodies for future point work. Pointe is for higher level dancers who are ready to do more intricate ballet exercises while in point shoes.

Hip-Hop: These classes teach fast-paced, high-energy urban dance. All routines are done to pop and hip hop music.

Lyrical Jazz: Based in ballet and modern dance, lyrical jazz is fluid and uses emotion to motivate the movement. The class focuses on artistry and musicality, while it challenges the dancer to move in new ways.

Tap I-II: Learn and practice the basics of tap technique in Tap I; tackle more complex rhythms and steps in Tap II.

Modern: Modern dance explores both abstract forms and daily life, but still emphasizes proper alignment and technique of the whole body. Modern encourages dancers to express their emotions through organic movements.

Afro-Modern Fusion: Experience the fun and excitement of African dance mixed with modern. This is for dancers of all levels; simple movement patterns will be given for beginners and modified to challenge those with more experience.

Guitar: This class focuses on basic guitar, reading musical notation, and exploration of rhythm, melody, form, dynamic and tempo. Students may enter this class with no previous experience. Guitars are provided in class, but can be rented for take home use.

Acting I-III: Learn and apply acting principles through a step-by-step progression of exercises that develop acting ability and create truthful and expressive behavior. Acting I for beginners, Acting II and III are more advanced.
