Musical Theatre! (Ages 7-14)
July 19th - July 30th
Through use of popular songs from musicals, our campers will focus on applying and bringing together the disciplines of singing, acting, and dancing, to create an effective presentation. The campers strengthen these elements by interpreting songs both musically and dramatically, then creating staging and choreography for performance.
This class is 30-45 minutes of fun songs that will spark your creative imagination as you travel to adventurous places from the comfort of your home or at the Walltown onsite location. Each day we build upon the lyrics and our campers have songs to remember that last for a lifetime.
Acting increases a child’s interest and ability in reading. Our summer camp performances develops self-confidence and nurtures self-esteem while Walltown's talented staff serves as positive role models that teach the rewards of commitment and achievement. Campers learn to be respectful and supportive of each other as they work together to create a new and memorable experience.
Scene study students learn and apply acting principles through a step-by-step progression of exercises that develop acting ability and create truthful and expressive behavior in developing their characters.
Jazz class will focus on learning dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Class curriculum is based on traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex.
