purchasing your tickets

Ticketing Tiers
PRIORITY SEATING
Opens 40 minutes before showtime. Guests with reserved tickets are admitted first and may choose any open seat (excluding staff-designated seating). If a priority guest hasn’t arrived by the time general admission begins, a seat will be assigned and held until showtime.
GENERAL ADMISSION
Begins 20 minutes before showtime. Walltown reserves the right to reassign or re-sell seats for general admission guests who have not arrived by the posted start time.
DISCOUNTED TICKETS
Due to the intimate size and limited seating of our Black Box theater, we are unable to offer standard discounts for children or students. However, we occasionally present specially tailored performances for younger audiences—shorter, family-friendly versions of our mainstage productions—at a discounted rate. These “abbreviated” shows are typically offered during Saturday matinees or weekday school performances.

Depending on the event and anticipated audience sizes, lap babies (ages birth to 2-yrs) may -or- may not be accommodated.  Please contact the office in advance to inquire for specific shows.
Exchanges / Refunds
Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same title up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled performance. Tickets can also be donated. Exchanges and donations can be made through the office by either donating in-person or by emailing [email protected].  Walltown does not offer refunds or exchanges on tickets for missed performances.

Planning Your Visit

Location & Directions
Walltown Children’s Theatre is located at
1225 Berkeley Street, Durham, NC.
We have limited parking available on-site, with additional street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
Out of courtesy to our neighbors, we kindly ask that you do not park directly in front of the house across the street from our building, so the family has clear access to their home.
Thank you for helping us maintain good relationships with our community!
Doors & Seating
We make every effort to open doors at least 30 minutes prior to showtime. However, because we are working with young performers, there are times when last-minute notes or final run-throughs may slightly delay audience entry. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we ensure our cast is fully prepared to shine.

Once doors do open, we begin seating in the following order:
  • Priority Seating ticket holders are admitted first.
  • General Admission follows as soon as the priority line has cleared.

Please also note that late entry is at the discretion of the House Manager and may not be permitted until an appropriate break in the performance. Thank you for helping us create a focused, respectful environment for our artists and guests.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive in time to be seated before the performance begins. Latecomers will be admitted at the discretion of the House Manager during a suitable break in the performance. We cannot guarantee immediate or mid-act seating once the show is underway. Thank you for helping us preserve the focus and safety of our performers and audience.
Accessibility Information
Walltown Children’s Theatre is committed to making our space welcoming and accessible for all patrons. If you or a member of your party will need accessible parking or entry assistance, please feel free to notify us in advance so we can best support your visit.
  • Handicap Parking: Two accessible parking spaces are available near our entrance.
  • Ramp Access: A ramp leads directly to the primary entry door.
  • Seating: Our Black Box theater includes wheelchair-accommodating seating on the right side of the audience area.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or special requests—we’re happy to help.
Concessions & Merchandise
Walltown offers concessions and merchandise as part of our ongoing fundraising efforts, with all proceeds directly supporting our youth arts programming.
At most performances, you'll find a variety of snacks and drinks, including chips, cookies, water, and juice boxes. For evening shows and larger events, we often expand our offerings to include hot dogs, chili, and seasonal drinks. Our amazing parent volunteers sometimes add a special touch with home-baked treats and sweets available for purchase.
Don’t forget to stop by our Walltown Merch Table! Official apparel and gear can be purchased on-site or made to order. Merchandise is also always available through our online store—so you can rep Walltown wherever you go!
Black Box Audience Etiquette: Showcase vs. Production
At Walltown, we celebrate both student showcases and fully staged theatrical productions—and each calls for a different kind of audience participation. Please take a moment to review the following expectations to help us create the best environment for all performers and guests:

Photography & Filming
  • Showcases are informal and celebratory. Feel free to take photos and video to capture your child's big moment!
  • Productions, however, are carefully crafted theatrical performances. Out of respect for our performers and fellow audience members, we ask that you do not take photos or video during these shows. Flash and screen lights are distracting, and the presence of cameras can break the atmosphere the young actors are working hard to create.

Cheering & Applause
  • At showcases, we welcome big cheers and proud moments! Celebrate your young artist as they share what they’ve learned.
  • At productions, however, we ask for more traditional theater etiquette. Your child is no longer “just” your child—they're portraying a character and helping tell a story. Please hold applause until designated moments, and refrain from cheering during scenes to preserve the flow of the performance.

Sharing on Social Media
Please be mindful when posting photos or videos online--do not share media that includes other children unless you have their parents’ permission. Help us protect the privacy of all our students.
