Greater Durham Black History Month Talent Showcase “African Americans and the Arts” WCT celebrates the many impacts Black Americans have had on music, movements, and more. . .
In 2024, Walltown presented it's first Community Showcase in commemoration of Black History Month. African American artists — poets, writers, visual artists, and dancers — have historically served as change agents through their crafts. Our showcase is an opportunity to highlight the achievements of not only these artists, but of other notable African Americans in an artistic way. Each year we open our doors to area artists and schools to celebrate the achievements of African Americans through each performer's unique use of dance, drama, spoken word, poetry, music, singing, and visual arts!! You won't want to hear about what you've missed - you need to make sure you are a part of the festivities. So sign up to participate in the show - or - make sure you are in the audience. Either way - BE THERE!!
